This little beauty surprised everyone when she arrived 5 weeks early! Unfortunately, she was born before her mom’s maternity session was scheduled. It was a shame to miss those, but she was such a tiny little one and a gorgeous subject, she made up for it. A beautiful face and a head full of dark hair….and so precious!

I would like to introduce you to a very special little one. This is Violet. Violet Arlene Trea – Trea which is Gaelic for strength. And her name befits her.

About a month or so before I was scheduled to photograph Violet’s momma during her pregnancy, I received a heartbreaking phone call. An ultrasound showed that there was something wrong with Violet’s brain, and the doctor’s did not expect her to live. The beginning of strength….despite the odds, Violet’s parents decided to carry her to term…hoping and praying for the best.

On March 29th, 2010 Violet was born. And she was strong. Though ultrasounds and tests and MRIs, Violet has been strong. While her future is yet unknown….she and her family continue to show incredible strength and hope.

Please pray for baby Violet….pray that her life would continue in strength.

You know…this weather is making me look bad. I had a client in the studio this weekend, she had just recently moved from the east, and she was saying she hoped we wouldn’t have a late freeze. Well…being a native Oregonian, I know my stuff. No, I say, we’re safe now, it’s March. We don’t freeze this late in the year…blah blah blah. Pfft…I wake up this morning to SNOW on my car. SNOW!! Obviously, I don’t know all I think I know.

Anyway….let’s move on to happier and cuter things. Like this little button! Check out this adorable face.  Isn’t she precious staring up at the camera like that? She’s a pro!

Isn’t this the sweetest little smile you have ever seen? I just love her little baby dimples! This little one was a bit older than the typical newborn that I photograph, but she was just as wonderful! She was quite alert for a good deal of her session, until dad decided to wave the white flag…and don’t ask me what it was, but for some reason, that was the ticket. She was out like a light minutes after he said that!! I think I’ll have to try that one in the future.

This little guy made the funny faces when we first started photographing him. He had me and his parents totally cracking up…what a doll baby!

Sigh….it just doesn’t get much cuter than a newborn baby. I just love the way they curl up…the little peach fuzz…the wrinkles! This little guy was just nine days old…it’s so important to photograph your little one within the first 10 days…they change so quickly.
