Yes, you read the title correctly…Los Angeles California. In May, this couple flew me down to California to photograph their beautiful maternity on the beach. We had so much fun! When we started out in the early morning it was raining…felt like home! But thankfully, as we drove towards the ocean, the sun emerged and we had a beautiful day.
And since outdoor maternity is not something I do a great deal…I’m going to share few extras.
(As a side note….contrary to popular belief…the wave in this first picture is 100%. I did not photoshop it in. )

Cindy: I just love that last one, perfect capture!
The woman is not only gorgeous…she’s super fun! I had a blast working with her and her belly…and tomorrow night I get to meet her little prince. SO FUN! I love photographing pregnant bellies and newborns. I never get tired of it, because each momma, papa and tiny baby is a sweet and unique soul. I love my job!
Oh…and she had the most fabulous hair with blue highlights. I love the way the light highlights that here…

Sorry for the lapse in posting….but things have been busy!! And bellies have been part of it. I love doing maternity portraits. It is just such a fleeting time for a mama to be (although, sometimes it FEELS like it’s never ending) and I love to capture the joy that each mother feels as she nears her due date. I always try to schedule newborn sessions to be done within the first week of birth…and my schedule looks all nice and neat. Of course, then these little babies come along…born 5 weeks early or a 2 weeks late and they throw off everything! But that’s okay, they are so cute, I’m going to forgive them. And so here begins the belly parade…it comes about a month before the baby parade…so stay tuned!
